Product Applications
Phenol (C₆H₅OH) is an organic compound that serves as a key raw material for producing resins, disinfectants, preservatives, and pharmaceuticals. It is also used for disinfecting surgical instruments, treating excreta, and as an antiseptic for skin conditions (e.g., itching relief and otitis media). With a melting point of 43°C, phenol is slightly soluble in water at room temperature but readily dissolves in organic solvents. Above 65°C, it becomes fully miscible with water in any proportion.
Phenol is widely utilized in the manufacturing of:
Phenolic resins & epoxy resins
Nylon fibers
Plasticizers
Photographic developers
Preservatives
Insecticides & fungicides
Dyes
Pharmaceuticals
Fragrances
