Triethylenetetramine,TETA,CAS 112-24-3,C₆H₁₈N₄

Name: Triethylenetetramine TETA
Other Names:N,N'-Bis(2-aminoethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine / Trien / 3,6-Diazaoctane-1,8-diamine
CAS: 112-24-3
MF:C₆H₁₈N₄

Product Introduction:
Triethylenetetramine (TETA), with the chemical formula C₆H₁₈N₄, is a linear aliphatic polyamine containing four amino groups and three ethylene units. Its molecular structure consists of two primary amines (-NH₂) and two secondary amines (-NH-), which provide multiple reactive sites, giving TETA high chemical reactivity.

In terms of physical properties, TETA is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with a characteristic ammonia-like odor. It is highly soluble in water and polar organic solvents.

Product Applications:
1. Epoxy Resin Curing Agent
Used as a high-performance curing agent for epoxy resins, suitable for coatings, adhesives, and composite materials.

Cured resins exhibit excellent heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength.

2. Metal Chelating Agent
Applied in electroplating, water treatment, and petrochemical industries to effectively chelate metal ions such as copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co).

Used in wastewater treatment for heavy metal removal.

3. Lubricant Additive
Functions as a corrosion inhibitor and antioxidant, enhancing the performance of lubricants.

4. Pharmaceutical & Agrochemical Intermediate
Used in the synthesis of certain pharmaceuticals (e.g., antitumor drugs) and agrochemicals (pesticides).

5. Textile & Paper Industry
Acts as a fiber treatment agent, improving dye fixation.

Used in paper manufacturing as a wet-strength agent.

6. Other Applications
Used in the production of ion-exchange resins and polyamide resins.

Applied in the electronics industry for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing.
