Product Introduction

Glycolic acid is highly soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in ether, and insoluble in hydrocarbons. It possesses the dual properties of both an alcohol and an acid. When heated to 100°C, it decomposes into formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and water. Its molecular structure contains both a carboxyl group (-COOH) and a hydroxyl group (-OH), enabling it to participate in various reactions such as esterification, etherification, and condensation.
